Nancy Maria then married Richard Perry on November 29, 1859 in
Fayette County. No further account of this couple can be found in the Fayette
County Census.
Nationally, the 1830's saw the Cherokee Indians being forced
into a journey from Georgia to the new “Indian Territory”, Oklahoma. President
Andrew Jackson ordered their removal in order to provide more land for
white settlement. They were uprooted, stripped of all possessions, and
moved westward on foot. About 4000 died on their trek which later became
known as The Trail of Tears.
The life of the elder David Crotser appears to have ended on
either February 10th, 1833 or 1835. Seen below is a copy of the Administration
papers for his death.
