They had 9 known children; William, Riley, John, Jr., Rubin, Jane,
Rhonda, George, Joseph, and Jasper Franklin. These children were born between
the years of 1858 and 1870. It is known that at least John, Jr. and George
were born in Montgomery County. The youngest, Jasper, was born on February
19, 1878 in Ramsey, Illinois.
The next child of Daniel and Nancy, Daniel, Jr. was in the Civil
War, joining on February 5, 1864. He was a paper mill worker for the Ford
Roofing Company and later a truck farmer.
Daniel, Jr. married Margaret Davis on May 1, 1873 in Fayette County. They
had 8 children; Jacob Robert, born July 20, 1873, Hannah Jane, November
13, 1875, William Edward, October 20, 1876, George Washington, born November
23, 1878, Lucy G.,December 4, 1881, Quincy VanCleve, June 1, 1885, Herbert
A., April 30, 1893, and Clara LaVetta, born December 28, 1895. Daniel and
Margaret were living with their daughter, Hannah, and her husband, Thomas
Purtillar, in Vandalia at the time of the 1920 Census.
Daughter Maria Elizabeth was married to Joseph Green in Montgomery
County on December 27, 1863.
